The Practice
Francois-West was founded by professional architect, Francois van der Westhuizen in 2017.
We specialize in high-end residential and commercial architecture in South Africa. We operate out of Bloemfontein, Free State.
At Francois-West, our aim is not simply to create spaces for our clients, but to cultivate the circumstances that will encourage the emergence of place; Space with identity and purpose.
We do this by carefully considering the relationship between spaces (physical environment), the needs of the users (activity), and the building's cultural impact (meaning).

The Architect
Francois van der Westhuizen
Francois completed his masters degree in architecture (M.Arch.prof) at the University of the Free State in 2007.
He has over 15 years experience in high-end residential and commercial architecture, much of which he obtained while working at the award winning architectural firm, Louise O. Architects.
He is a registered professional architect, and a member of SAIA
